Knit Companion-an app that's a must have for crafters!

Don’t have Knit Companion?  You’re Missing Out.

I am no Knit Companion Expert.  In fact, there is a lot I would like to learn.  But this I DO know.  This app is totally transforming.

The app allows you to import patterns from pdfs or Ravelry.  And once they are on Knit Companion there is a whole lot of things going on that make knitting or crocheting a lot easier.

For example, there are built in row counters that you can toggle to keep count of rows.  There’s a line on each page that you can adjust to whichever line you are in the pattern.  If a project becomes an abandoned WIP, simply go back to Knit Companion to find out where you were.

There is a function that allows you to write notes below the pattern and on it.  Keep track of the size you were using, or the needle size this way.  Or any other project notes (such as decided to skip decreases).

There is a free version of the app which allows you to do lots of functions, but the paid version is only $9.99 a year, or $14.99 for the upgraded version.

I personally like paper for a lot of things, but papers can get lost or left behind (don’t leave them at Purls!), or chewed by your dog or spilled on.  This is a neat, tidy and smart way to keep all your patterns in one spot.  You can always have a supplemental paper copy.  But having a knit companion library makes a lot of sense.

And, here’s the best part.  Laura is teaching a class at Purls on Saturday, January 19th at 9:00.  She will go over the basics and delve into some special features.  It’s a must!  Don’t miss it!

Happy Crafting!
