WPI Ruler & Twist Angle Gauge
WPI Ruler & Twist Angle Gauge
Low stock: 3 left
This WPI (Wraps per Inch) Ruler and Twist Angle Gauge combo tool is made from maple wood and is used to identify the gauge of a yarn. The twist angle gauge for yarn spinning tells the angle of twist from 0-90 in increments of 10 degrees and designates S or Z twist.
To measure twist angle, lay your yarn across the wood and match the twist to the closest twist angle line. Great for spinners to check to make sure they are keeping the ply twist consistent.
The wraps per inch (WPI) is a way to measure the thickness of a yarn. This tool is used by spinners, but is also helpful for knitters and crocheters to determine the weight of the yarn and what the approximate gauge will be. This guide also has lines on the back to measure your yarn against, including lace, fingering, sport, DK, worsted, bulky and super bulky.
This yarn guide measures about 3 inches tall by (almost) 3 inches wide and comes with a brass clasp to hang on your knitting bag.
